Jem 10th Neck Cleaning

Hello Everyone,
Long time lurker, finally a member & Proud owner of a Jem 10th Anniversary. As I'm figuring stuff out about it I noticed the neck is bare (though I think i remember seeing somewhere else people said it was 'oiled'?). How would one go about cleaning it? Mine is looking rather dirty. I was reading up on the sticky on maple freatboard cleaning, but I dont want to do anything that would damage it.

Any hints/tips on proper cleaning & maintenance would be much appreciated!

Re: Jem 10th Neck Cleaning

Well I have my own methods, but I'll stick to mainstream advice.

a nice, oil based soap, some toothbrushes, bore oil, and if need be, some 0000 steel wool.

Re: Jem 10th Neck Cleaning

10th necks are cleared, just very light. Use anything abrasive and you'll strip it off. Oil soap or even spit on a rag will clean it very well.
