JS100 Lo-Trs II upgrade to Edge Pro II

Hi guys!

This may have be discussed and documented somewhere else, but i'd like more opininons and experieces if any...

Is the Edge Pro II a good replacement for the Lo-Trs II?

And the real Q- Why does some of you say that you can't fit an Edge Trem onto a JS100 and others have done it without any problems or even playing with the cavity?

I really need and want to change my Lo-Trs II, I want to make the right decision... (unfortunetly it's not something you can test before you Buy!)

Thanks,
w

My understanding is that the new Edge Pro routings are significantly different from previous routings (different stud positioning, etc.) making them poor retrofits for other trems.

You're probably better off going with a regular Edge or Lo-Pro Edge, which will require significantly less modification to your body.

Mainly because the manufacturing tolerances aren't terribly tight on a lot of the Korean-built guitars. Some of them may have sloppy enough trem recesses that an Edge will fit a TRS rout without extra cutting. Others will require a bit of routing to get the right fit.

i replaced with a schaller floyd rose from stew mac. its unbelieveable. i cant see how an edge or any other trem could be much ebtter as mine rarely goes out of tune, and in 2 years i have only broken 1 string.its cool as the blades are changable.i would really recommend it. and no body mods. all i had to do was to file down the part that holds the springs, so it would fit in the trem cavite, nothin major. just my humble opinion but the schaller rules
