LED line tester for a/b signal chain
I am curious to know how to do this and it really cannot be that complicated, I just need a starting point and a little guidance. I bought a Big Shot EFX loop switcher to run in my signal chain. I have one string of effects from the blackstar dual ht pedal in one loop, and in another, a hughes and kettner tubeman. I'd like to have these two accessible at various times during a live gig, different songs, different tone, etc. The Big Shot EFX is great, however, the maker of the loop switcher didn't feel like adding LED's to show which loop is activated. This can be a problem.
What I am thinking of doing, and should be rather simple, in each 'loop', add a home-made cable (line) tester that sits in between each chain that is lit when in use. So, this way, once that loop is active, I see the LED light up. Does that make sense? I'd hate to have to spend more money on a loop switcher that has the lights when this one really does do the job just fine, but needs some minor mods to suit my purpose.
