Work on it until the buzzing stops.

Seriously though, where is the buzz occuring? 3rd fret, 17th fret, all frets?

You could have a low fret, a high fret, not enough relief in the neck or the bridge may be too low for that particular guitar.

If adding relief doesn't cure it you'll need to either build the G slot in the nut higher, or replace the nut.

If it's only the G string then don't add relief to the neck. The slot is too low. You can build it up with superglue, for a quickie, but the G (compared to the other strings) will wear that out the quickest. You can fill it with superglue and bone dust or the dust of whatever your nut is made of. That's a pretty good alternative to replacing the nut, although any superglue in there usually causes a squeaky, binding sound on the G.

hmm....alright....looks like I'll have a tech replace the nut...I'd do it but it's my dad's guitar and it's a vintage so I might as well not "mess" with it...I can mess with my $70 strat if I wanted to do that.
