Locking tuners - how stable are they?

I'm thinking of selling my Jem 7DBK to fund a nice Suhr, Tyler or PRS.

My question is how stable is the tuning of these guitars which have strat-ish type bridges with locking tuners given mild tremelo abuse?

If anybody has any tips that would be great

Thanks

Mark

Not sure mate, if you fancy a trade with some cash I've got a mint rgt42dxfm, no trem troubles there

To answer the question though, they aren't amazing but they keep tune 9 out of 10 times from my experience.

New Fender Strats keep tune pretty well in my opinion. Especially their two point trems on american deluxe series guitars. So I believe Suhr's non-locking trem equipped guitars stay in tune as well as best Fenders.

I don't have any tuning problems with my Jem.

I'm just after a Tyler or Suhr and will have to part with my Jem to help fund it so unforetunately I'm not in the market for your RGT42.

Thumbs up Re: Locking tuners - how stable are they?

My uncle has a ESP LTD Viper 1000 deluxe (sperzel locking tuners) and it stays in tune excellenty, but it dont have a trem, your only problem would be your strings coming off your nut from a divebomb the tuners would hold no probs!
Regards
Jonny
