Rich at Stormshadow Guitarworks in Sheffield UK would be my go to guy, also Jaden Rose is in the process of starting up again. Rob Williams guitars is another one I know by reputation, but I’m not sure he’d do something like that, as far as I know he’s more a custom builder than a repair/mods guy.

It’s a fair way to ship for a pickup installation, but those would be the UK guys I’d trust.

Not wishing to cast aspersions here but it's an incredibly simple job, a competent kitchen worktop fitter could do it with his router if you gave him a template:

https://www.madinter.com/by-type-of-...-template.html

Simply stick the template in place using double-sided tape and rout it out, then drill a hole for the wire and coat the bare wood with graphite paint to shield and hide it.

Is there not a single living person in Latvia you could trust to do something this simple?

Wow, harsh. Some of us could do this very simply, others not so. Some don't have the tools, time or skills to do it. The guy only asked a question...

Not harsh, helpful.

I gave him a good direct answer in plain English because English is not his first language, please think before you react emotionally and unhelpfully.

After nearly 40 years of playing guitar, the nearest to woodwork I like to get is fitting a DiMarzio cliplock strap, and even then I have to psych myself up for it!
Leviathus likes this.

Re: Looking for luthier to drill slot for single coil

TBH routing a middle pickup slot into a rear-routed (no pickguard) body is rife with problems and not a simple "let me try it for the first time" project. Notably the concern is getting a clean route without wrecking the clear & paint (chipping & creating lines where the router sits on the body is likely for a first timer) as well as coloring the sides of the new cavity. In short amateur hour will really alter the body for the worse and kill resale potential.

Not sure what tone you're looking for with the middle PU but i'd consider if adding coil split & parallel switches (push-pull or a mini toggle(s)) can substitute or be an even better idea. Good luck.

In a previous life I used to fit kitchens and believe me some of those worktops are SERIOUS money, so easy to chip out the laminate if you're a cack-handed amateur.

Which is why I suggested it.

Luthiery is a different skill set entirely.
