Low tuning and floyd rose

I have a KH-602 which i've wanted to slap some mighty thick strings on, and tune down to B. after some research (mainly around cannibal corpse), it seems that this setup is a pain in ye olde arse, regarding tuning ang mantenance.

Should i tune higher, or can i do something to remedy this?

Re: Low tuning and floyd rose

I would be willing to bet that what you've actually heard is that it's a pain to change between tunings on a guitar with a floating trem. If you plan to install heavier strings, tune down, and then leave it that way, the guitar will be no more difficult to maintain than it is now, once it's set up properly. Getting it set up could be annoying, but it's a one time thing and clearly worth it if the end result is really something you're after.

Re: Low tuning and floyd rose

AFAIK, Cannibal guys use 7 strings guitars, not 6 strings tuned down to B.
I guess it would be a seriously pain to use such a tuning, it's just too low.
But it can be done, if you have patience.
