Marshall combo speaker mods

my JVM is my main amp, although i have 2 other Marshalls

Marshall DSL401 gonna definitely stick a vintage 30(60 watt in there), anyone else done the same? love the amp just think itll be even better with the upgrade

to upgrade my Marshall 8080 speaker not so sure, i want it to be worth my while and this is an 80 watt amp, so a different thing entirely, thoughts on the suggested speaker upgrade for this?

Re: Marshall combo speaker mods

I actually got rid of my celestions and put some eminence legends in my marshall cab... Id seriously suggest trying out or youtubing different speakers. Most people say celestions sound better, but my ears liked the eminence's better!

Exactly what I was going to say. Celestion seems to have dropped in quality quite a bit according to a lot of reviews I've seen online. Eminence and Weber seem to be favorites for modding. I have an old Blues Deville with Fender branded Eminence speakers in it and they sound better than the Vintage 30s in my halfstack.
