My swirl project- silly problem
I'm butt-deep into my latest project which, ofc, I'm swirling.
A few weeks in now, and I'm getting some great practice swirls out of my stuff. I've figured out all the fun thinner/paint ratios, water temp, skinning time, etc. but the problem I'm having is more mechanical than chemical.
While I'm doing my test swirls, I'm flying solo. Once the strip is submerged, I'm having a rough time keeping the excess paint on the surface cleared off long enough to pull it w/out double skinning.
I've been using the newspaper to wipe off the surface, but it's still creeping back over the dip. Do I need a spare pair of hands here to keep it clean or do any of you intrepid swirlers have a 1-man method of skimming you'd be willing to share? I'd hate for something this silly to keep my project sidelined.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks folks!
