My trem arm won't fit in the trem post on my LO-Pro!

Anyone know the problem?
The arm won't fit into the post leaving a bit of the nylon washers
out side and feels really really tight! When turning it, it also feels really tight. I think the trem arm is fine becuase it fits fine on my other Ibanez gguitar.
Thanks

Try a little bit of KY on the shaft and it'll glide in as smooth as butter.

Seriously though, just about every new Edge, LoPro or Edge Pro I've encountered has this problem. Just make sure you press the bar in straight, with firm pressure and you'll be ok. After a few good whammy sessions, the nylon bushings will begin to wear the powder coating from inside the grooves of the bar making it easier to insert and remove. Your older Ibanez will also have more wear on the inside of the bar receiver, thus making it easier to insert a new bar with fresh bushings.

No KY necessary.

One other possibility: Since the Lo Pro was used on 2002 guitars and prior, if your guitar was purchased "used", first check to be sure that there is nothing jammed in the bottom of the receiver barrel. The previous owner may have used teflon tape or something similar to prevent the bar from slipping.

This was not bought new, but I did have someone stick a metal object inside the post and lifting the trem up earlier, could that have done some damage to the trem post?

That probably damaged the inside of the barrel causing a gouge or burr inside the soft metal of the bar receiver insert.

You should only depress the trem with the bar or finger pressure. Maybe Rich has an insert available. Sounds like yours is screwed unless you can carefully file the burrs with a thin round file (1/8" or 3/32").
