My tremolo is killing me

Hi there, I'm kinda new here, but I was wondering if anyone can help me with this.
I am trying to set up my RG2077XL, and I can't get the tremolo straight.
When I use 4 springs, the tension plain sucks and it won't stay in tune (altought the trem angle is ok). I also have to loosen the claw screws way to far (up to the point where they almost come out of the body).
When I use 3 springs in arrow formation, I have to tighten the claw screws all the way into the body, and the trem still tilts towards the neck (not just a little bit). I think I'm going insane...
I'm using .9 to .46 strings, with a .56 for the low B. I'm trying to tune it to BEADGBE (no luck so far, aargh...)

Any ideas/tips/sympathy?

use 4 springs and get longer claw screws, or use 3 harder springs...

Yeah, I'm thinking of something like that. But the difference between 3 "arrow" springs of 4 parallel springs shouldn't be THAT big, should it?

sometimes it happens to me too: i set 3 springs in arrow conf., then i flip a pile of washers on each one of the claw screws, so to have the claw pretty much rocking against the cavity wall, keeping the screws from over-tighten into the wood.

it works, but then i'll buy some different springs and adjust the setup.

Re: My tremolo is killing me

sorry for digging up a dead thread, but how did it go for the B tuning and the bridge?
