New 7vwh not staying in tune

k, first of all I'd just like to say hello to everyone (<-- first post )

Got a brand new 7vwh on thursday, sounds damn sweet. However the bridge doesn't always seem to go back to the same place, when I pull up it says slightly sharp and when diving it stays slightly flat. Is is just a case of breaking the guitar in, or should I get it checked out somewhere? From reading info on this site I don't think the bridge is at exactly the right angle, I can pull up the open G string to a D

Thanks in advance

If it's brand spankin new (hasn't been on the wall getting played by everyone in the store for months) I think I would follow the setup procedures in the tech section first, and be sure to get the bridge where it should be.

Also check to make sure the blades arn't showing abnormal wear on the trem (again this won't be a problem if it wasn't a floor model). If they are either file them yourself or take it to a qualified tech in your area.

Depending on the year it's either a knife edge problem or a post and edge problem. Follow all the other steps to rule out other causes here

but my guess would be the answer is the next section down.
