Hi, I'm new here. I love this site and have read it for a while. It seems like everyone here has impeccable knowledge of anything guitar related. You guys are great.
So a year or two ago I got an Ibanez s470, that came with a Low-Trs II bridge. I really hated the bridge, so I decided to replace it with an original Edge. To make a long story short, I became impatient, and did the mofications (routing, drilling holes for larger Edge locking posts) myself without the proper tools, and messed up my guitar. I didn't mess it up horribly, and It's worked for the last year, but my trem won't flutter, and I'm having tuning problems. I now want to replace the body.
Heres the body. Being new here, I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links to E-bay actions. I'm not advertising it, I just need advice.
Well, it edited out the word e-bay, but I'm sure you guys can figure out how to get to it.
My question is, is this body made for a 24 fret, or a 22 fret neck? Can I put a 24 fret neck onto it? On the auction is says that the guy put a 24 fret neck onto it, but I was under the impression that it didn't work that way without having intonation or scale problems.
My other question is this: On the auction, it says that the body is routed for a Lo-Pro bridge. If it's routed for a Lo-Pro, will an original Edge swap directly without any further rouiting?
Also, it's made of Poplar. How is that as a tonewood? How will it compare to Mahogany?
