New pickups, weird warble...

so, i put new pickups in my Epi Les Paul. Now, i am getting this weird warble now on the high strings, like a ghost note that is not quite in tune with the note i am fretting. I have lowered the pickups as low as they can go to eliminate the string pull thing...I have checked my intonation and everything is ok there.
any suggestions?

this may be grasping at straws, but the pickups had short wires, so i added wire to them. however, the length i added is not shielded wire. I have some, i just didnt think to use it. this sound like a reason for the warble im getting or will unshielded wire just give me hum and buzz?

do you mean unshielded to mean it's just bare wire?

Re: New pickups, weird warble...

no, i mean its four separate insulated wires as opposed to one length of cable with all 4 conductors inside one jacket with shielding around them all, like the wire that comes from the factory on pickups.

so, not uninsulated wire....unshielded.
