NGD/Restore-PL1660 (Flying V)

I actually purchased this for a buddy of mine. He had one when we were 15 and been missing it ever since. I would see these guitars pop up on CL or the bay from time to time and always tried to get him to pick it up. So I just decided to get for him for a Birthday Gift.

I am not going to refinish just restore as best I can. I was also toying with the idea of adding a killswitch like I did with my RG7620, RG7421, RBM10.. not sure might just keep it "real" vintage.

The pictures below are form the seller. It should ship out this Thursday!!!

Already ordered the orginal pro rokr fine tuning screw from "Mr. Ibanez"

Need to touch up the black.. Not sure what to use... Nail polish?? Sharpie???

Missing Back plate

Battle Scars- not sure if I am going to repair these... color matching is my main concern and I do not have the proper spray equipment... Suggestions/Tips are welcome...

Very nice.. I have a hot pink one and to be honest I don't play it because it's not that great of a guitar but it sure looks good on the wall

It's definitely pink, looks exactly like the bottom one. I think the color might be called cherry ice?

WOW!!! A friend of mine had one of those back in 1992. And the idiot cut the headstock off with the ceiling fan on his room.

Excellent find. Those are extremely rare.

No man, it was the silliest of things.

Ceilings here are not that high. He finished playing for the day and was not careful when he got it off his shoulder. I was not there, but I guess he lifted the guitar the way most of us do when taking it off, and was standing straight under the fan.

I don't know what he is doing nowadays. I have not seen him in years. I wonder... are he still mad at us because we kick him out of the band? Mega LOL

Automotive Touch-up ballpoint-tip/brush paint... These are actually pretty cool, it has ballpoint tip which when it is pressed the paint starts flowing out..You can also unscrew the top and it comes with a nail polish type finishing brush... Cost like $7 at Pep Boys....

Neck Before Pics

Check out the difference in color between the heel and the neck.. Yes Sir,,, you guessed it.. that is 25+ years worth of grease, dirt, sweat and who knows what else absorbed in there..

Took a page out of the "maple fretboard cleaning" sticky on this site.. (Thanks HDS)... I also used these Non scratch clean pads which worked out Grrrrreat!!!!

Neck After Pics

It feels really smooth and fast as is.. I might put something on there later... not sure yet...
