Ordering Parts a Problem?

Anybody else have trouble ordering parts from their local Guitar Shop? I have lived in several different cities, and the story is always the same, whenever I try to order parts (sometimes something as simple as a DiMarzio Cliplock strap) They act like its a chore and I am being a real pain. What gives?

I've never had that problem, but I'm sure I know where you're coming from. Just talking to some fools at some of the local shops make me want to keep my money. I've ordered from EKG and guitars from Rich (both guys are great to do business with & that's where I like to try to keep my business). I looked into ordering parts through a local store. They were helpful, but I decided to go another route.

I think it all depends on who you're dealing with. One employee might be better than another. I like to keep my business with the outfits where I'm dealing with the owner, or someone who has a vested interest in the business' success.

On the other hand, it also depends on the ultimate source for the part. Ordering a part from Ibanez, regardless of who is doing the ordering for you, can be a royal pain in the be-hind.

I think the service industry as a whole has really slipped over the years which I find odd, since their biggest competion is the internet and one on one customer service is one of the few things that give them an edge (as well as being able to touch the product).

Do I sound old or what?
