Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

I need to replace a horribly pitted original Edge. I have never had a Lo-Pro Edge. Just wondering what you prefer. The only difference I see is how the string locks in. I don't have any problem with the Edge. Never had an issue with my hand hitting the fine tuners. I'm thinking of getting a lo-pro. Looks to be a direct swap in my 770. Please share your thoughts on differences, preferences and why. Thanks.

Re: Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

lo pro edge to me flutters better and looks nicer.
rich has some for cheap new on sale.

to be honest not much difference but the lopro wins and is easier to change strings.
i have plenty of both and know.

and yes a direct swap.

Re: Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

I swap all of my Original Edge's with Lo-Pro's. Neither is really better than the other and they don't really feel any different either. I just think that the Lo-Pro is better looking than the Original Edge. As well as a bit more out of the way. You don't notice how in the way the Edge's tale is until it's gone.

This. Exactly this.
I still have an original edge on my RG, just because really I don't care that much and am not on an independent income. In fact, I'm lucky to have that thing at all, it totally fell in my lap

Looks aside lo pro is more comfortable and it's harder to accidentally turn fine tuners since they located lower then on edge...

Re: Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

I love them both, but the LoPro is just a bit better for the above mentioned reasons.

Re: Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

Has anyone ever actually had a problem with the fine tuners on the original Edge??

I've been playing them for 20 years and never once had that problem..........

I couldn't pick a favorite, but typically the OE is not as stiff as the LP.

Re: Original Edge or Lo-Pro Edge

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be going Edge Lo-Pro. I have got to try it to form my own opinions.
