Unhappy Output Jack

I was looking at the Ibanez website on rewiring the jack, and noticed there's two types. One is the long one and the other is one which is smaller, and it's identical with the one I have in my Les Paul. Can any of you tell me which is better to use? This is will be my 2nd time replacing this.
