Pb with volume knob

Hi, i've bought a JEM 7W WH which is an amazing guitar i'll keep all my life! but i've a problem: My volume knob is unscrewed ( it moves in every way) !! it works but i don't think it will work for long... what should i do? Must i unscrew my plate and replace all the strings after having screwed my knob or should i give my guitar to a repairer? (i don't think it's necessary...)

please help me! thanks!

Sometimes if there's a lock washer under there you can get the potentiometer to bite into the pickguard and hold itself in place as you tighten the nut from the top. Otherwise you have to take the guard off and hold the pot while tightening the nut. That would be better. If you went to a tech you might have them resolder the connections because the loose pot movement can wear out the wires and the connections.

Just pull the knob, pull up on the shaft and tighten the nut. Once it grips you can really tighten it with an 11mm. Worry about any wiring if you have a problem "after" it's tight

well... yesterday i've tried to look how it was behind my table... i've unscrewed everything but when i have screwed again it seems to be ok...except today: when i put my "middle" pickup here is what i get:

-w/ disto: clean sound a bit crunchy
-clean sound: nothing exept when i put the gain at a very high level...

i think i have touched a wire while i was looking inside... shi***
it would be cool to have a clean sound whith the middle pickup but the problem is that when i putthe switch on the 2nd and 4th ^position i get the same sound that when i am w/ the 1st and the 5th position...
can anyone help me? thx...
