Pickguard on Jem Dbk

Well i took a change and won the bidding on this DBK for $ 730. Only one picture and lack of information in the listing kept potensial bidders away.
The axe is ok except for the pickguard. Something happend to it on the edges. Anyone who knows why this occur ? Should the screws be black ?
Pretty expensive for a new original one $ 130. Just think i will leave it as is.

Something got under the edges and discolored the mirror backing.
You can get a non-original replacement fairly cheap that will fit.

is it like that all the way around?? If so I would say it happened when they cut the pickguard. the foil is separating from the edge.

Re: Pickguard on Jem Dbk

Is there a "B" stamped on the back of the headstock?
Could be a factory second.

No it is no B on the headstock. My guess is that it is some moist during the years (1999 mod) that has discolored the chrome film on the pickguard.

One of the saddles was rusty also
