Pink Paisley Fabric Finish for 1527M

My first attempt at refinishing a guitar:

Not perfect. Definitely a few things I'd do better next time around.

And before anyone asks or complains:
1) I don't want to redo the headstock just because I don't want to molest a 1527M neck
2) I have the cavity covers, but I'm still debating what to do with them.

Not a fan of pink but I do like that finish. Looks good from the picks and clear came out well. Can you glue the fabric on the control covers as well and clear them so they blend in with the body?

I absolutely love this yes I'm disappointed about the non matching headstock, but the body looks straight outa Nashville

I like the head as it is, I think it balances well with the bridge. I also like the color you chose for the burst- it blends really well. I'd probably stick with black rear covers. Any thing else would look gaudy, IMO.

Thanks guys!!!

I may do white covers. Otherwise black. I'm not in love with the black headstock, but if I redo it, it'd be with a plain maple veneer rather than the paisley. Anything more is too much IMHO.

I really like it, including the black/white/pink color combo that really compliments the maple neck. Well done!

If you want to change the look of the headstock without molesting it, what about buying one of those headstock covers that people make out of pickguard material? You could paint it or do whatever you wanted and then have the factory finish beneath go unharmed.

^ that's a great idea! I'll see if Pickguard Paradise can make one for a 7 string.

I missed this thread first time around...I think the guitar looks great - nice work!!! I had a pink paisley Tele many years ago but sold it (still kicking myself for that). Sorry to hear you're selling such a unique and cool looking guitar

This thing is gorgeous. Does it still exist? Is it available for sale or trade?
