Re-string help.

Hi everyone, just a quick question about re-stringing. I've never re-strung a locking guitar yet, and will be in the very near future. However, when i re strung my strat for the first time i took all the strings of in order to clean the fretbaord (and it is recommended to change strings one by one- on and off consecutively), the tremolo went mad due to the loss of tension and all the springs at the back had to be re adjusted, and i dont think it was quite the same again. So will this happen on my edge pro if i take all the strings off to clean the frets?

2 ideas :
1. You can block the trem with some item that will prevent the springs from pulling it back. Then you can take all the strings off, clean the frets, restring.
2. Change the strings one by one like you said. Get it all tuned up and lock the nut. Then following the instructions in the Tech section here, pull the whole trem out, clean the frets. Then when you reinstall the trem the strings will be close. Just some fine tuning.

remove the whole tremolo WITH THE STRINGS ON!!!! clean the board, do all you want to do, reinstall the tremolo, again WITH THE STRINGS ON!! and then go ahead and change the strings, one by one... works like a charm

id rather do it that way cause if sh*t happens with the strings, its not the new set

you can find the procedure for taking the trem out in the tech section on Rich's site, the funky colored banner top of the page
