Replacment Nuts

I was wondering, what would happen if I had a lockin trem system ala Lo Pro and I decided to replace the locking nut with a roller nut. They use it on a wilkinson, would it work on a floyd style trem?

Sure. But it may not stay in tune as well as a locking nut if you do heavy bar stuff. Lots of people use locking tuners in combo with roller nuts or graphite nuts.

The roller nuts have some space between the edge of the nut area and the part where the string crosses over. Because of that, they are usually cut farther toward the bridge by that distance. So if you just replace the nut you won't intonate properly because the fulcrum point will be back farther. You'll have to route away a little of the fretboard. Fender had a roller nut that was a really tiny pin so it wouldn't be that noticable. Either way the right way to install it is to properly position the fulcrum (not the edge of the nut) at the intonation point.
