Pickguard trimmed using above jig - would have been easier to flush trim in the cavity, but itís not deep enough for a router bit. Anyway, itís an exact fit using the jig.

Got parts in today (thanks Rich)

drilled new, larger holes for original edge inserts






Original Edge installed, the right way.

Primer has dried, so sanded it out and applied color coats and clear...




I lasercut a custom foam pad for the trem pocket



In place..

They are great for guitar building, and repair. I make all of my own templates for bodies and necks, as well as a system I've developed for cutting fanned frets. They're also great for inlays on fretboards. Both the male and female portions of the operation.

I know this mod isn't everyone's cup-o-tea, but a watch that doesn't keep time has no value as a timepiece, and a guitar that doesn't play makes a poor paddle for your canoe... This was an exercise in possibilities, more than anything else - and a definitive answer of "No" to the question of "Will an Original Edge fit an Edge III slot by just opening the corners with a file?"
