RG570 V1-S1-V2 pickup height

Hello,

I have bought a RG570 second hand and already repaired the broken headstock and lowered the action by changing the shims. I am new to the board and donīt know how to setup pickups.

Here is my question:

The guitar has got the V1 S1 V2 pickups and they have to be put in the right positions. Is there a fixed height for theses pickups? Is the distance measured from the bottom of the string to the top of the pole pieces? (The two humbuckers have polepieces on one side only).

I have tried to do it by ear but itīs not easy. I get a pickup to sound "good" but then the combinations are not evenly loud. So I just wonder if there is a suggested distance.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Frank
