String Cleaning/Lubing Products

I've recently been playing with D'Addario XLR8 which is a string cleaner/lube.

I liked the results, in that it made the slightly tacky strings (pretty much new - I suspect I may have transferred crud from the frets to the strings) far slicker. Sliding power chords became much less effort and more relaxed.

However, I have various concerns. Aside from not necessarily wanting to get hooked into a cycle of regularly applying something to strings [so far it's been a one-off, followed by 3 sessions of use]; I'm wondering if it will harm the guitar in some way.

Any thoughts on whether it's likely to cause damage ?

Give ghs fast fret a try too, I've used it for decades. Quick wipe before play and when done. Nothing to fear with either product.
