Bit long, bare with me on this one,
I recently purchased an Ibanez RG370DX equipped with Edge III (i know it's bad, but i'm not much of a trem abuser) and i've been having some problems regarding sound/action/trem when switching gauges from 0.09's and 0.10,
what i mean is:
After setup, 0.10's sounded awsome! and i'm a former "Les Paul" player so the strings felt like butter in my hands and i was able to shred away like crazy, now, for the action, no matter how many neck relief/string height ratios I tried it never seemed to be as low/buzzless as on my LP
(also 0.10's) AND
because it's an Edge III you CAN'T add a fourth spring (spring-lock bar thingie won't screw in...) so the trem is -uber- sensitive and i can't palm-mute properly without unwanted pitch changes.
but i LOVE 0.10's!
so I decided to go 0.09's..................
Restrung, Trem Re-adjusted, neck relief adjusted to string height,re-intonated, action is at all times low and acceptable buzz is achieved, pickups re-adjusted as well.
the guitar sounds like S*ITE!
everything is so wobbly, the trem is stiff though, strings sound ****, chords are dis-figured, overall sound is CRAP, sustain got cut by HALF and i can just go on and on and on...
what can I do?
sorry for my bad english
will gladly accept any advice, from anyone!
