Tune Stability Problems

Ok i got to admit, iam not really good with the technical parts of the guitar, all i can do is play it, and play it good.

Recently I have switched to trem guitars and not know anything i stupidly restrung all the strings at once for 3, 4 times. And about 3 weeks after my last string change the pitch changes dramitcally all of the sudden. I dont think its the weather although it got very very very humid. sigh. Hong Kong. Anyways whats the problem. Nuts are tight. The screw that holds the string on the trem is tight. The allen bolts at the back of the neck are tight too.

Whats wrong?

That's a little too much information, are you nervous?

Only joking mate, it could be to do with the neck bow from the sounds of things (what with the humidity.) Just take it to a tech for a setup, unless the guitar is crap and you fancy experimenting, but the truss rod is something you need to do in really small stages, otherwise you can damage your guitar permanently.

Hope that helps!

Re: Tune Stability Problems

bridge level is now even. Its a jem which i bought only 6 months ago. Do i really need a tech only after 6 months. How much does a full resetup cost anyways.

Full setup in the UK can run 25-40 plus strings depending on who does it, not sure where you are from though mate.

Re: Tune Stability Problems

I checked the intonation and its a bit off. 12fret e string is higher then open e string. i only tried this on 1 tuner but it sure its pretty accurrate.
And there are some fret buzz on the 4th 5th and 6th string near the 24th fret.

Re: Tune Stability Problems

Take the plunge, a pro setup is the way to go and just be careful when changing strings in the future.

And don't talk to strangers.
