What size Block is on the Edge trem?

Hey guys! I got a question about what Block sizes will fit in a Edge Jem route? Will a 37mm or a 42mm replacement block work? Looking for the largest block for the most mass, If I can get away with a 42mm that would be awesome.

Also, I usually leave my trem coverplate off for convenience... I'm ordering the new Jem in Seafoam Green and since it hasn't shipped, I don't have one to get the block measurements from. Hopefully someone can stick a ruler next to their Block for sizing and see if a 42mm might stick out of the cavity route too far?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: What size Block is on the Edge trem?

I could be wrong but I believe the standard recessed edge block is 35mm maybe shorter 42 would probably stick out ar too much and cause issues with the springs...

I dont think the new 70vsfg's have shipped yet but plenty of places have them for preorder.....

You may get away with a 37mm block...

Re: What size Block is on the Edge trem?

Thanks ozzuk! That's the insight that I needed, I was guessing that a 37mm Block would probably be the best fit.

I just so happen to have one of the new 70vsfg's on preorder at Matt's Music Center. Waiting is going to be a bitch, of coarse....

KillerGuitarComponents was having a sale yesterday, But I missed it since I didn't know what Block size to get? You gave me the answer, so I'll be ready for the next one. Thanks again bro!

Re: What size Block is on the Edge trem?

I'll try to get a measure of my blcook on my oe cnat see the jem70v being different to a standard RG....

I believe that the 70v should be expected around aprill...I think thats when Ibanez rules are expecting them maybe it will be more like the end of march...

I would wait untill the guitar arrives you can get away with a longer block but im not sure that a 32mm Im sure i've read the Ibanez blocks tend to be 35mm hopefully someone with more experience can confirm that...
