i'm looking for some place that can mod my guitar to have a recessed floyd rose tremolo, which means changing the nut and routing my guitar's tremolo route. also is 150 dollars a good price for this mod?

You should just trade in the guitar you have for one already equipt.

Even if someone will do it for 150, which I doubt, the tremolo would would add to that.

150 wont even get you a OFR trem.. let alone someone to mod a guitar for it..

Suck it up and go buy a used RG on evilbay or a cheap one a guitar center.

well that 150 is how much the mod is, the floyd's price is only 170, i can get that. but a used rg is like 600 or more dollars i believe, which i dont have that money and also i want this guitar to be something i dont care much about, as long as it stays in tune and can do pull ups and divebombs.

A $600 used RG isn't one that you'd want to take to hell and back, as you said.

Have you looked on the bay? I see a couple of japanese-made RGs that just closed for $300-400.

Just get a RG370

theres about 100 RGs on evilbay under $300

i was worried about the edge 3's and all that crap. so you guys think those trems are good enough not to piss me off while trying to practice? nothing gets me more mad then a guitar that goes out of tune every 5 minutes lol

ok let me break this down for you...

you got 300 or so dollars. You want a $1500 guitar for that amount.. Not going to happen..

You are going to have to settle for lesser quality or you pony up and buy a better guitar..

exactly so im saying i should get the mod! i could get the mod on my fender but i dont think modding an american deluxe strat is good for the resale value and also i still wouldnt want to bring an american strat to school, so the only way im getting a guitar with an ofr for cheap is to mod my yamaha, so plz just tell me where to get the mod done

ah i just thought of it, why dont i just get the lower end model of the floyd rose guitars, ill have to get their special strings but i think it might be worth it or even a peavey predator series, it doesnt have to be original floyd rose as long as you guys know it is still a quality trem

dude, the Edge 3 gets a bad rap. I have one, and have not had one single problem with it. Some people just don't know how to take care of their guitars.

oh im glad to hear that, i feel less worried about getting rg with an edge 3 or even a 2. i think ill settle for a rg with an edge 3 or 2 depending on what is out on evilbay, i just need to seel this guitar and sell my fender amp can. by december ill be able maybe to get an rg priced around 600. december is the month i'll be able to start bringing my guitar to school anyway, so in the words of peter griffon, now i play the waiting game
