Unhappy wierd dead notes 21-23 fret high E

Hey, im having a problem with my washburn n-2. Its been like this for a while but basicly what happens is when i play the 21-23 frets on the high E instead of sustaining like it should with a fernandes sustainer fitted, the notes die out incredibly quickly and it almost sounds like its hitting a harmonic towards the end of the decay.
i have no idea whats wrong with it, heres what ive done to try and fix it so far

-pro setup
-fret dress
-endlessly fideling with the sustainer trimpots
- raising the action incredibly high
- string changes

any ideas guys?

I take it the N2 is a bolt-on? Sometimes a strange phenomenon that can affect bolt-on guitars is "dead spots". Sounds like that's what you've got here. I would have said check your setup but it's obvious you've tried all of that. Not sure what to do - anyone else?

Dead spots indicated a fret too high. Most likely some warpage since you had the frets dresssed.

Does anyone know if washburns have fall off?

Edit: take it to a luthier and ask, he could tell. Probably would be cost effective. Worse comes to worse you will need a refret.

Re: wierd dead notes 21-23 fret high E

thanks for the replies, but like i had my frets dressed last week could it have warped that much since then? and damn refrets are expensive :P

+ what do you mean fall off? sorry im kinda nooby

also this is the first time i had my frets dressed but it still looks liek there are flat spots and they look dull with small scratches allover them, is that what they normally look like after because tbh i was expecting them to look new but idk if i should complain to the guy?

and yes its bolt-on

Nope, he did not do a good job. They should be like little mirrors.

That's not a fret dressing then he ran some steel wool over your frets and called it a day.
