Will Dimarzio Vol Tone pots fit Ibanez knobs ??

Beside the fitting, which should I be buying 250k or 500 k??

The only reason I ask, is the dimarzio switch tips dont fit the Ibanez switch tip covers, so Im worried they wont match up etc..

Cheers !!

these are the pots im looking at buying

Probably not J,

The length works well on rear route bodies, but the shaft diameter is larger than the bore on a standard body or pickguard. It's obviously not hard to open the bore up a little to accommodate the shaft, but I thought you'd want to know that.

I prefer a 250 audio taper on the vol with a treble bleed cap and a 500k linear taper on the tone with a .068Mfd tone cap, but that's just my preference. The guitars construction/wood type/pickups is usually what determines my choices.

You can make the plastic knobs fit, but that's about it. Probably the newer metal set screw knobs as well. UCGR's had DiMarzio pots. Any metal push-on knob probably won't fit.

500k is the norm for humbucker equipped guitars.

Bourns, cts, alpha, dimarzio, evh, all use 6 mm shafts for their split shaft pots.... all normal push on knobs will fit.

For pot value, humbuckers standardly use 500k ohm exponential taper (audio taper).

correct. However, its totally dependent on taste. I think one day, I would like to try an EVO pickup wit ha 250k pot! Should curve out the overly bright (to my ears) highs and make it less vowel-like. But the higher resistance you go, the less highs get "chopped", I think it has to do with treble bleeding on lower resistance levels, although I won't pretend to know the first reason as to WHY that happens haha.

That said, the standard is 500k for both, with .47mF resistor for tone

edit: dude, save your money... buy some alpha of CTS pots for cheaper... same exact quality, half the cost. Dimarzio charges more simply because "they can"
