I don't think anybody is going to answer until you explain why you're putting a Gio neck in a JEM.......

Haha, right you are. I have an unfinished JEM body that I got pretty cheap and want a temporary neck until I can afford to have one made by the guys that advertise on here.

Yes it should fit! You may have to sand it a bit, but it will work.

For a little bit more you can also get an ibanez RG neck, you may want to consider that.

I was looking at some RG Wizard II's (I understand they're 56mm at the heel.) But they're all going for over $100 and that price point doesn't fall into my definition of "temporary".

I think I might go ahead and snag the Gio. In the meantime I'll be socking money away for a Perle neck.

Thanks for your reply!

Re: Will this neck fit?

I'm not so sure that's not a chibanez neck.....the AANJ curve looks wrong/not elongated enough. The price is right, but I'd be cautious. Be prepared to resell if necessary.

You could always put up a WTB ad in the classifieds.......I'm SURE there are plenty of folks with WIZII's laying around (I just gave away my last one or I'd hook you up)

Thanks for the tip! I'm definitely gonna do that. I'm trying to stay away from the Shark Fin inlays, so maybe I can score a deal for a 90's model with dots.

Re: Will this neck fit?

That should be easy enough....... I think all of the 470's came with dots and a few were even original wizards.

FWIW....there's a pawn shop close to me that has a '96 470 in decent shape....I think they're asking $160 for the whole guitar. I didn't spend any time with it, but if your interested in it, I'll go inspect it and report back with info and pics.

Yeah that'd be great! Maybe we could work out some kind of deal if I dig it.

Re: Will this neck fit?

Ok, I made a dumb move. I bought that Gio neck. Whether or not it's "genuine" as the auction said, I noticed the fretboard overhang (after the purchase). Wizard II necks dont have an overhang, so it's going to cover the neck pickup cavity and the scale length might get thrown off.

Whatever, I guess I'll just relist it when I get it.

No Worries RGTFanatic, I'm still down to check out that 470.
