Will this work ?

Ok so, im putting together a new pedal board. Got the Voodoo Labs power plus 2 setup and its all working great.. It has a courtesy outlet for an IEC cable i think its called.

What I want to do is, connect that particular plug to a 4 board power outlet, and install that in the underside of my pedal board so I can plug other pedals that cant be powered by the voodoo..
so check out this picture and let me know what you think.. !!

This is what I made.. obviously will be soldered and taped off later

and this is where it would get powered from. socket on the left

Re: Will this work ?

you want to power the power strip with the voodoo using this method? Am I understanding correctly??

As long as your not drawing too much current (3amps?) through the voodoo you should be OK. Does the voodoo have an internal fuse in line for that particular plug? and what is the amp rating for that fuse (if it has one)?

Re: Will this work ?

As long as that particular outlet doesnt have a surge protector or power conditioner built in, it will be fine.

Re: Will this work ?

I'd say do the opposite and run current from the wall to the power strip and use one of those outlets for the PP2+.

Yeah but that makes to much sense :P I already installed a IEC connection for the PP2 in my new pedal board...

I will check it out at the voodoo lab forum and if its a no go, your idea, makes the most sense.

Cheers

Re: Will this work ?

That should work just fine. Just beware of which lug is which--polarity and ground wise.
