YJM pot lug grounding ideas/suggestions
i recently purchased a SD YJM pot and i am having trouble grounding it.usually i am able to bend back the #1 lug to the pot and solder it, but with this particular pot, i cannot.Trying to do so, bent and teared the lug slightly, cause they are very short and not flexible.the lugs seem to be made of a harder material then others.i did managed to fix it with some solder though.
i went with soldering everything without trying to solder the lug to the pot and i was not able to control the volume by turning the knob.
after that i decided to use a cut off leg from a capacitor, soldered that to the lug and to the back of the pot.now i was able to get to control the volume but then i started to get a lot of noise.
i am gonna try to insulate the open wire and see if that helps, but overall i would like some help or suggestions, I've never had this much trouble installing a pot.
my wiring setup is very basic, 2 hum 1 vol, 3 way tele selector in a ibanez shielded cavity.
thanks for looking
