The Holy Destroyer - Show your support

OK, I am pleased the new through neck DT has been released. This ''fills the gap" left vacant in the Ibanez line up for pointy guitars.

HOWEVER, this instrument is aimed at a market (pickups, price & origin) very different to the traditional hardcore Ibanez fans who worship the old DTs. When are we going to see a proper MIJ reissue of the set neck DT400 as per what happened with the artist series? Even a very limited run would do but do not limit the colors to cherry burst.

You made an incredible guitar in the 80's, managing to make it look better than its inspiration, it is time to bring it back in the right way: show the world what the Destroyer II is about and show us Japan can produce another masterpiece matching the original.

Please IBZ lovers, show your support to this idea...How many of you have wanted to own a spanking brand new highend DT? Long live the Destroyer.

Re: The Holy Destroyer - Show your support

Rather than a new model the specs should be based on the old trusty DT400, this one is pretty unbeatable.

Re: The Holy Destroyer - Show your support

Yeah - we're now 4! Enough for a very limited run! LOL

Any suggestion for pickups - I thought DiMarzio Superdistortion (cream) bridge and Paf neck (Gold).

Duncan JB and 59. Or tone zone and humbucker from hell. Or EMGs. Christ I can never make up my mind on pickups. Actually some Gibson humbuckers would go nicley for that 70s explorer vibe. . .

A Prestige Destroyer with an Edge, I could go for that.

Ibanez Destroyer + Gibson Pickups = EVH original brown sound. Yeah!

I just love the combo Ibanez and DiMarzio, that just sounds right, imagine a whole bunch of super distortions in a Phil Collen reissue with a original khaler...

A prestige DT would be great too if they stick to the original set neck. Mind you I'd buy a bolt on, I already have the DT420 but I need another one (the wife does not seem to be on the same wave length but what does she know?!). What colors should they offer apart from the usual black?

That's it, you're out of the party!

Unless you mean a Prestige Destroyer that tells dirty jokes and has a mohawk.

A destroyer that tells dirty jokes and has a mohawk? Christ that could only be more awesome if the head stock was constantly on fire (probably one of the least realistic hypothetical features of my dream custom guitar)

Re: The Holy Destroyer - Show your support

DT555 or DT155 with all the specs as a re-do please! Both in neck-through this time! One of the finishes - black with cream binding and gold hardware! PUs - DiMarzios x 3; Bridges- Edge or the new spanking edition Kahler 2300 Pro, which now comes equipped with a trem stop!
Those would sell like hotcakes!

I have a 1980 dt50 and its perfect, i want to try the new ones, see how they feel, They look rad. its not really a reissue for me because its so different,
