I agree, this lineup has the most signs of life of anything Ibanez has done in recent memory. An entry level but functional K7, a new S7 with an honest to god ZR7, the RG8... Loads of new colors, loads of new models - good news alll around.
Now all they need to do is make the entry level K7 a lefty and I'll shut the hell up! And even applaud them!

Big applause from me.

More 7 strings!

I think I will even be thanking them by spending some money this year.

Re: I think the folks at Ibanez deserve a big round of applause

Yeah i dig a few models too:

I think as an NAMM, this is gonna kick ass cos there are a few non-Ibanez guitars that kick ass:

* Dean Rusty Cooley Signature
* Dean Michael Angelo Batio Signature
* Schecter Jeff Loomis Signature
* Peavey Jason Becker

But yeah well done Ibanez, there are some great models!!!!

Peavey is releasing a Jason Becker sig.? Wasn't he with Carvin before the decease took over?

Re: I think the folks at Ibanez deserve a big round of applause

He has had various guitars.

Carvin, Hurricane, Peavey.

But the particular model with the numbers on the frets was a Peavey.

Yeah I know he has several. He also had a LACS Ibanez. But I was sure that he was with Carvin back in the early 1990's.

He rotated all 3 at the same time i believe.

I don't think he was contracted to 1 particular company so he used all available.

The Carvin DC was definately he most used guitar though. And i'm surprised THEY haven't released anything.

Well, the pink quilt-top RG and the metallic yellow RG were originally introduced as the 20th anniversary models in that thread, which we know is not the case. Could they be production guitars anyway? Possibly, but no word yet. The mustard sparkle one's inlay would be rather hard to photoshop, especially, but the pink wouldn't be too prohibitive.

Also, that "Oxblood" S series looks like something I've seen photoshopped before, and is too close to a Louis Vuitton pattern, IMO, for me to believe Ibanez would really release it. My money says that one's not real. The blue UV has also been confirmed to be a fake - Shawn over at www.sevenstring.org did that one himself.

EDIT - also, those three natural stained finish RG7 fixed bridge guitars have been a Japan-only small batch run for that japanese shop that'll ship to the states, drawing a blank on the name... The official designation is something like HR7-4 or somehting like that. It's not a new model, though I'd LOVE to see those widely available in the states.

Espescially cos it's 20 years since "Speed Metal Symphony" kicked everyone's ass.

They could've done a joint Becker/Friedman special edition although Marty's Ibanez contract may have inteferred.

I would still love a Becker DC for sure!!
