It could go either way. Obviously, it means "to back something/to be in support of something," so you could take it both ways. Either she is backing Ibanez's product, or Ibanez is backing her as a player.

Having her on the front page of the Ibanez site(s) would probably attract a couple of women into the Ibanez market.... and even more men

That's a valid point. A lot of the 'girly' guitars are too girly without being particularly light - the S series strikes me as being the perfect weight for a relatively small woman without being branded a girl's guitar.

...yet keeping wide necks, which aren't really fitting a girl's hand size... they should bring back some of those nice '86 Roadstars pre-RG which had narrow (yet sleek) necks and Fender-style small frets, maybe white or purple or whatever girls like, and there they go.
