No Custom Shop for the UK?

Dear Ibanez,

I have been told UK customers cannot access your custom shop. I am wondering if it is temporary or permanent...

I love this brand and I do not know why we should be barred from ordering custom models, after all the sterling pound is very healthy.

Thank you.

Oli

Re: No Custom Shop for the UK?

Only endorsed artists get access to the custom shop, nothing to do with what country you're in.

Actually, I don't even think the endorsed artists have access to a custom shop. I'm pretty sure the ones with unique guitars are playing prototype models. If you look at their FAQ, it actually specifically says they don't do custom orders at this time.

If you are in the market for a custom guitar, you don't need to get it from Ibanez for it to be like an Ibanez guitar. You can just spec out the guitar to be like an Ibanez guitar. If you look at Luca Turilli's guitars, Capelli even copied the basic design of Ibanez's headstock logo.

Re: No Custom Shop for the UK?

Prototype means that the product is something that you are experimenting with before putting into full production, so no, endorsed artists are not usually playing prototypes unless they are about to get their own mass produced line.

The custom shop produces (amongst other things) one-offs built to the artist's specification. Not all endorsed artists get access to the custom shop either as far as I'm aware.
