Unhappy Sustain problem with j-custom. Some notes are dead. What is your advice?

My new RG8550MZ has no sustain at all at the 2nd string 13th fret and 3rd string 17th fret (C 523Hz). The note is abruptly dead in less than 2 seconds.

I have discarded vibrations at the bridge, problems with the frets or wrong setup. It seems to be a resonating frequency of the neck that absorbs the vibration of the strings and cancels the sustain of that note (dead spot)

Here are more details about the problem:

I would appreciate if an expert from Ibanez could kindly give me some advice.

Thank you

Might want to try the official Ibanez forum, as you're more likely to get in front of an Ibby rep there - they read here occasionally, but not as frequently as they used to.
