Andrew W.K.

Ok, anyone who's ever heard any of Andrew W.K.'s last album is probably thinking "Yea...so?" And I wouldn't blame you. His first album was fun, energetic, skillfully put together, but nothing extremely amazing. While unique and enjoyable, it failed to completely attract my attention. It wasn't until I saw Andrew W.K. host Much Loud (a 1 hour metal show on Canada's Much Music) that I really took interest. He really lives his life as the music of his first album suggested: energetically and to the fullest. He really loves what he's doing, and is passionate about life. Another interesting fact: He was at one time the drummer for a grindcore band. Blast-beats, etc. But he felt he wasn't good enough, and decided to leave it to the "masters" of the genre as he referred to them. He then proceded to play his new video for "Never Let Down"...man, I'm impressed. For a guy who worked his way up literally as a solo artist, doing gigs opening for huge name bands, with only a CD-player, a keyboard, and a microphone, he really has talent. This song blew me away, and the simple video complemented it nicely. Here's a link to both:

n/m, link seems to open a random album every time...I'll fix this though. There is a link in the news section of Andrew W.K.'s official site to listen to the entire new album with RealPlayer for free.
