Avant-garde (Vai)

This is something I put together today (over a backing track). With so much to do and so much music to listen to, I think the last time I heard Steve Vai (apart from a concert in 2014) was his last album a few years back. I first heard Passion and Warfare a few decades ago. On that note, I purchased his Naked Tracks to jam over and to challenge my compositional skills (to get out of ruts, etc.). I choose Greasy Kid Stuff off the Passion and Warfare album, but without recalling how any of the guitar parts went. I didn't want to hear them as I wanted to do my own thing and not be influenced... and this is what came out (I tend to be more of a melodic player, and so this was somewhat challenging). The song Avant-garde is the top one listed on my site:
