Blast from the past. Michael Lee Firkins show last night

Wow! Went to see our hometown hero last night. Michael Lee Firkins is one badass guitar player. Uses the whammy bar like no one I have ever seen. He does a lot of pull-ups and tremolo with it that sounds like a slide. He does a lot of slide work too but damn he is good. Top of his game at chicken-picken. A lot of his high school buddies came out to the bar so there was a lot of reminicing and stories from back in the day. Apparently he is huge over in Europe and won an English version of a Grammy which I'm sure was well deserved. Check him out on facebook and you tube. This guy should get a spot on the next G3 tour for sure.

He's not that huge in the UK, maybe the rest of Europe?

Love his unique style and completely off-the-charts talent.

Not huge in the Netherlands either, although he did win an award in 1990 or 1991 for best instrumental album.

Awesome player, but i liked his first album the best.
