Satriani meets Robert Fripp meets Jean-Michel Jarre (if you know him: French progressive keyboard player, one of the pionners of the electronic music in the mid-late 70's)
Very original but very good

Re: Chimera Cloud

THanks. I usually get flack with stuff like this... e.g., too much going on... and I should repeat a them (like a verse-chorus), which I find boring. Yes, heard of Jarre back in the 1970s... a friend of mine had his Oxygen album. I recently bought his Oxygen Trilogy. I also recently bought a Roland Integra-7, so I'm pretty pumped about creating more atmospheric type compositions.

Re: Chimera Cloud

yeah this kind of music can turn in a shred orgy if the brake pedal is not pushed a bit, I know that's hard sometimes.
I feel the same about the verse-chorus structure, I also find it boring but "normal" people find it normal, eg a friend of mine (which is not musician at all and which does not listen at any of the bands I listen to) listened last song (flashback to 2142) and he told me there's no normal structure: there is no verse/chorus type of structure. He would have liked the Satch/Vai part to be repeated at the end. My wife also made the same kind of comment. People are programmed this way, that's a pity...
