Can we please shut up about them?
Every live clip I've seen of them, be they drunk or sober was sloppy as hell. Sure the studio stuff is clean, but then, thats done in a studio. Kaiser Nancarrow's main riff (Shawn Lane) was constructed note by note, it's not impossible for Dragonforce to build solos in a similar fashion (especially since thats what they're doing, taking things over and over until they get it right), however, while in Lane's case, the riff is damn near impossible to play, Dragonforce's stuff is just very simple movements done very fast.
As far as I care they're bottom of the barrel dudes that wish they could play like Alan Lennon or Rusty Cooley, and are trying to convince people they can. The fact is they can't. As for the music, I certainly find the music of most other turbo shredders (Lennon and Cooley as examples again, particularly Lennon) much more enjoyable, and bad as some of their tones can be (much as I like Rusty, I hate his tone) they're infinitely more pleasant to listen to than Dragonforce's tones, which all sound like a hyperactive gibbon playing a thousand nintendos.
