do they remain in the same place all of the time or do they move???
is there a science to working out where the best place to get it is?? ie. in relation to the speakers??? or does it really just vary from stage to stage?

it's just the guitar and amp really. i've never tried, but it shouldn't vary too greatly from stage to stage.

It varies quite a bit from stage to stage, and monitors and monitor placement can play highly in the equation. Just about all the feedback JS uses is derived from the monitors and at sound check he finds all the sweet spots on the stage and marks them with tape as mentioned above. Stevie seems to use the amp more for feedback, than the monitors, but I wouldn't rule out the importance of the monitors in his equation either.

Gary Moore went with the tape trip. What about running up to your amp and holding it in front, 80's style?

Except good ol' Teddy almost doesn't have much of a choice, hauling that Byrdland around on stage, at levels that would scare Motorhead away!
