Re: Flashback to 2142

Nice Zep III thumping in the beginning... and then suddenly Satriani/Vai. I would like to hear this extended to include another lead solo.

By the way... I like the tone of your lead on that song. Whether using actual equipment or a simulator... and if you have time... share the amp type, settings, etc.

For all my electric guitar sounds I use my Line6 Flextone III amp, directly connected to my computer.

For the lead sound of the 1st and last part:
Ibanez RG 550 with EVO neck: tone and vol: 10
Crybaby (customized): fully closed (bass)
Line 6 flextone 3 config:
-Line 6 Chemical X amp model with V30s speakers
-Univibe
-Chamber type reverb
-Swep echo (echoplex)

For the lead during the middle part:
Ibanez RG 550 with EVO2 brdige: tone and vol: 10
Line 6 flextone 3 config:
-Soldano SLO100 amp model with V30s speakers
-Plate-type reverb

I haven't done any modification on the sound on my DAW (reaper)

And most of all, my fingers! lol

Re: Flashback to 2142

What are the amp settings... e.g., bass, treble, midrange, presence, etc.? Thanks.

you seem to be pretty curious, lol!

Here's a link to access to the tones screenshots: the top one is the tone for the 1st and last parts ansd the bottom one is for the middle part (soldano, based on the cliffs of dover song from Eric Johnson (that was a factory preset of Line 6 which I modified during the years)

Do you also use line 6 amps for your own musics?

Re: Flashback to 2142

I'm using an Axe Fx II (although I stick with a few pre-sets... never bother tweaking them... too lazy).

You should toy with the presets as sometimes it doesn't need that much change to get a more satisfying sound, I remember only changing one parameter at a time to really get the impact of it. All all of a sudden I found several times new sounds I liked. Then during the years I more or less kept the same basic sounds and only changed the EQ, amount of effect or from times to times the amp mod setting or (more often tough) the cab mod setting

You'll get my follow also as I listened to your latest song Dreamcatcher, you definitely have a Steve Lukather phrasing style!
