I just saw a video with Paul Gilbert for the first time in my life, and Man........Im a copy of this guy in my play style and looking, the only thing is just that he is 12 times better than me

Mille Petrozza is my biggest influence tho, doesnt mean i sound anything like him tho.

I grew up on Van Halen, and he was the sole reason I picked up the guitar.
I've also been into/tried to emulate (within my abilities) all the other greats:
Page, Hendrix, SRV, Satch, etc....
But, the other day I was listening to a Def Leppard cd and realized that my actual "style" is very similar to Phil Collen of DL. I always liked them, but never looked to them as the source of all things guitar.
My picking, riffs, harmonics, etc are much more similar to Phil's style than EVH or any of the others I've spent so much time trying to sound like!

Oh its been a while i didnt post on the Jemsite...Hello everyone...
Well i was influenced by lots of guitarist and none guitarist as well when i was groing up. But over the years i developped my own style of playing and phrasing, song writing.
But the techniques are the same as other players like vai and satch etc....

Ahum...... People often say I sound like Richie Sambora in his early days (with a twist of Warren deMartini)..... Not much of a shredder though...

Most of my influence comes from Paul Gilbert, just my soloing though not really songwriting.
