I was Marty Friedman's guitar tech for today!

I just came back from Marty's first clinic here in Chile (brought by Ibanez' distributor, Fancy Music), and I had the privilege to be his guitar tech. He used a stock SZ520QM, which I set up with 10's.

Very nice, down to earth guy, and I really liked his comment about my work: "the guitar was perfect" Plus, he bothered to learn my name and when he needed the guitar tuned he would kindly ask via the PA.

Monday is the second clinic and I will be doing the same

Also, check my articles and interview (in spanish) at www.fancymusic.com

Yes I do

I think you'll have to cut and paste the URLs. Sadly, the pics aren't that great, I hope monday I can get better ones.

The second pic would have been great, me handling him the guitar, if I...didn't totally block him!

Sweet! I've heard from someone else who was a tech for one of Marty's clinics that Marty was really strange and rude. This was back when Marty used Jacksons I think. Perhaps he's had an attitude adjustment . Awesome, I'd like to meet him, the stuff he's been doing since leaving Mega Deth has been really awesome.

Congrats friend, Marty is a guitar legend and rightly so. I have one of his tutorial videos and aside from the dodgy hairstyle he doesn't come across as arrogant at all - he explains his thoughts behind trying to avoid sounding like the stock rock guitar player with some bloody clever ideas and crazy picking IMHO!

Well, the guy in the pic isn't me, he's my pal Lucas Yaksic from the chilean band Dracma (he's in the Ibanez Army, see the sticky post in Other Ibanez Guitars)

As you can see...he borrowed my guitar!!!!
