So when the pandemic struck my band The Bar stool Boys (https://www.facebook.com/The-Bar-Sto...87140391670116
) got hit hard and we lost a ton of gigs, as I'm sure everyone else had. I know I'm a horrible guitarist, so go easy on me...My bassist and I had been trying to find the right spot to open a fully stocked rehearsal studio and we looked for almost 18 months prior to the pandemic with no luck. There are no rehearsal studios within 50 miles or more that offer amps, drums, and guitars. We wanted a place that offered this, plus an array of other music services. Such as recording, multi camera live streaming/video services, lessons, and live sound reinforcement. In Sept, by sheer dumb luck we found a place and signed a lease for our business. We did some demo and finally got the approval of the town to open legally. So Encore Rehearsal Studios (https://www.facebook.com/EncoreRehearsal
) was born and we opened in mid October.
We both knew it was going to be awhile for this to blossom due to Covid, but Covid allows us to get the word out to people online in a much bigger way because I feel like there's more traffic on there now...We have a long way to go, as we will be doing more construction this Spring. I'm bringing an architect's plans over next week for the additions and demolition we'll be doing, and waiting to get the permits for it.
We've been doing some paid work, and some free live streams as we figure out what we're doing. We'll be adding Pro-Tools in March, and have already been working with some local clubs/Bars for live sound/back lines.
The bassist and I have good jobs and the expenses, while not nominal are not affecting us in a negative way. So for now, it serves as our private rehearsal for our own band.
Take a minute and check our facebook pages out and tell me what you think. Thanks for sticking through all of that and good luck to everyone out there...
